SOAS College initiative for improved grades
Improving the grades of students is a process that not only involves the teachers and students, but also the parents themselves, in offering their support and encouragement to the students.
Realising this formula is necessary for the improvement of students' grades, Sultan Omar Ali Saifuddin (SOAS) College has introduced the Academic Excellence Programme.
In light of this, parents and guardians as well as students were recently invited to attend a seminar to help kick off the programme, which was held at the main auditorium of SOAS College.
The college invited internationally certified Neuro-Semantics & NLP Trainer Mohammad Nasser Ismail to deliver a short seminar on the steps to academic excellence.
Mohammad Nasser and his colleagues will also be delivering several workshops on Neuro-Semantics & NLP to students, teachers as well as parents.
"This is the school's own initiative to improve the grades of the students, particularly those who are currently sitting for the Lower Secondary Exams and the GCE O' Levels," said SOAS College Principal Pg Hj Zahari Pg Hj Ahmad.
The school will also introduce programme intervention, where there will be remedial classes every Friday for English, Malay, Mathematics, Science, History and Geography subjects.
The focus programme introduced by the college will focus on three groups - students, teachers and parents - and will continue until October.
Included in the focus programme are motivational camp, talks, seminars/workshops, night study, exam skills, mass prayers and an Intensive Drilling Clinic (IDC).
